Download coming soon

Dock previews, ⌥Tab and ⌘Tab switching and the sweep view are free. Selecting several windows at once and Select old windows are free to try for 14 days from the first time you use them; after that, buy a license once ($4.99, up to 3 of your Macs). No card, no automatic charges.

1. Open the zip

Double-click the downloaded file. Panesweep appears next to it.

2. Move it to Applications

Drag Panesweep into your Applications folder and open it from there. Because it came from the internet, macOS asks once whether to open it. Panesweep stays out of the Dock and adds a small icon to the menu bar.

3. Allow Accessibility

Panesweep asks for Accessibility the first time. In System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility, turn on Panesweep. It needs this to show, minimize and close windows and to see which Dock icon you’re pointing at.

4. Screen Recording (optional)

For live pictures of your windows, also allow Screen Recording in the same place. Now and then macOS asks again whether Panesweep may “bypass the window picker”; that’s its reminder for Screen Recording, and you can choose Allow.

Prefer not to? Turn off Window pictures in Settings. You’ll see app icons and window names instead, and macOS never asks.

5. Try it

Everything else, including your own shortcuts, ⌘Tab, this desktop or all desktops and launch at login, is in Settings from the menu bar icon.

6. Enter your license

Copy the key from your receipt email, open Settings › License, paste it and click Activate. To move to another Mac, click Deactivate on this Mac first.

Updating and removing

To update, quit Panesweep and replace the app in Applications. To remove it, quit Panesweep and move it to the Trash. You can also turn it off in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility and Screen Recording.

Verify the download (optional)

If you want to make sure the file arrived intact, compare the size and check code (SHA-256) under the download button with the result of shasum -a 256 Panesweep-1.0.0.zip in Terminal. You don’t have to.
