Your windows stay on your Mac.

Online only for licensing
Panesweep has no analytics, tracking or ads. It connects to panesweep.pages.dev only when you activate a license, about once a week to recheck a purchased one, and when you deactivate it. It sends only the license key and a random install number the app created. The server checks them with the payment company (Lemon Squeezy) and returns a confirmation that can’t be forged; it stores neither license keys nor IP addresses. If you only use the free features, Panesweep connects nowhere.
What the app looks at
- Your windows: their names, positions and which app they belong to, so it can show, switch, minimize and close them. Read through macOS Accessibility.
- Window pictures: only if you allow Screen Recording and leave Window pictures on. They are shown in Panesweep’s panels and never leave your Mac.
- The Dock: which icon the pointer is resting on, through Accessibility.
- Keys: it watches only for the shortcuts you set (such as ⌥Tab). While a switcher is open, the keys you press go to it; otherwise typing passes through untouched. Keys are never recorded.
What it stores
A recent-use history, so windows can be sorted by when you last used them and old ones can be picked. It holds only window numbers and times, no window names or pictures, in ~/Library/Application Support/Panesweep. License and trial state live in a private file in the same folder. Your settings are stored in your macOS user account’s app preferences.
